What does NB stand for?

Nota bene. Latin for note well i.e. pay attention.
Not to be confused with Nb - niobium.

Other Latin abbreviations common in English e.g. "i.e.", etc., what do they stand for?

e.g. - Exempli gratia. For example.

i.e. - Id est. That is.

etc. - Et cetera. And so on.

Bogus Latin

Greetings, Can you please help me? I am trying to find the definition for the latin phrase Illigetini Don Corborundum. this is how it came to me, so I hope the spelling is right.

It should be spelled something like Illegitimi non carborundum.

It's not real latin, but it is supposed to mean:
- Don't let the bastards grind you down.
Get it? Illegitimi = bastards, carborundum = grind. Well maybe that's funny.

Here are some more bits of bogosity I have seen:

Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscript catapultas habebunt.
- If catapults are outlawed, only outlaws will have catapults.

Qui in ventem urinat, se lavare constat.
- Who pisses in the wind washes himself ???

Ubi dubi ex flagilati.
- When in doubt, whip it out.
